The Blue Slipper Program

Support for Widows of Texas Master Masons

Masonic Children & Family Services of Texas (MCFS) is proud to introduce our Blue Slipper Program, specifically designed to support the well-being of widows of Texas Master Masons. This program embodies the Masonic ideals of brotherhood and compassion, recognizing the unique needs that widows may face after the loss of their spouse.

The Ripple Effect of Loss

The loss of a loved one can bring emotional upheaval, along with practical and financial difficulties. Widows may suddenly face a reduced income, unexpected medical bills, the burden of home maintenance, and a deep sense of loneliness. The Blue Slipper Program aims to ease these challenges and provide support in several key areas.

Financial Assistance for Essential Needs

MCFS can provide funding for:

* Dental Services: Maintaining oral health is critical, but dental care can be expensive. We help with costs for routine cleanings, fillings, and necessary procedures.
* Medical Services: Unexpected illnesses or ongoing healthcare needs can place financial strain. We help with doctor visits, co-pays, and essential medical treatments.
* Prescription Services: The cost of medications can increase quickly, so we assist with prescription costs to ensure you access the medicines you need.
* strong>Health Maintenance Supplies: Simple modifications like grab bars and wheelchair ramps can make your home safer and more accessible. We provide funding for these vital items.
* Durable Medical Equipment: If you need equipment like walkers, wheelchairs, or hospital beds, we can offer financial support.
* Food, Clothing, and Utilities: When income is limited, we step in to help cover essentials like groceries, clothing, and utility bills.
* Qualified Funeral Costs: We understand that the passing of a spouse can create a significant financial burden. In accordance with program guidelines, MCFS can help cover qualified funeral expenses for Texas Master Masons on the widow’s behalf.

Counseling Services

Grief is a complex process, and a professional counselor can provide emotional support and guidance as you navigate this difficult time.

Referrals to Community Resources

We connect you with local support groups, agencies, and organizations that help with everything from transportation to legal advice.
The blue slipper is a universal symbol among Masons, representing the support and care extended to the widows of our brethren. By offering this program, MCFS carries on a long tradition of honoring the Masonic commitment to compassion and charity.
